Jobs — Rhode Island & Charlotte, NC

We see you. Here’s what’s actually out there.

Transparent pay. Real employers. No recruiter spam, no bait-and-switch, no ghosting from a black-hole inbox.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness, in plain English

PSLF is a federal program that wipes out the rest of your federal student loan balance after 120 qualifying payments while you work full time for a qualifying employer. The forgiven amount is not taxable income, which makes the math better than most loan-repayment perks nurses get pitched at hospitals.

Federally Qualified Health Centers, 501(c)(3) nonprofit hospitals, government health departments, and tribal health systems all qualify. Job title doesn't matter. You can be a staff RN, NP, charge nurse, or case manager. If your W-2 says nonprofit or government, you're in.

A qualifying payment is one made on a Direct Loan, on time, for the full amount, while you're employed full time (30+ hours a week) at a qualifying employer, on an income-driven repayment plan. Partial payments don't fully count.

120 payments is roughly 10 years of monthly payments. They don't have to be consecutive or at the same employer. Forbearance and time off pause the clock. When you come back to a qualifying employer, your prior count resumes where it left off.

If you've been paying down loans at a non-qualifying employer, those payments don't move you toward forgiveness. The clock starts when you take a qualifying job. Past time isn't lost, but it doesn't count either. The sooner you're in a qualifying role, the sooner the ten-year window closes.

The Department of Education's PSLF Help Tool is where to start. It checks whether your employer qualifies and generates the annual employment certification form. Visit studentaid.gov/pslf.

Every nonprofit and FQHC role on Flor is tagged for PSLF eligibility so you can filter by it.

Every pay range on Flor is verified with the employer

Every employer on Flor signs the Flor Partner Pledge before posting their first role. The pledge commits them to listing real salary ranges, not “competitive” or “DOE” or “negotiable.” We won't publish a job with vague pay. If a role gets posted without numbers, we hold it back and ask the employer for a range.

“Competitive” is code for “we don't want you to know what we're paying.” “Negotiable” usually means the floor is lower than the average nurse would accept. We treat both as missing data. Hourly roles list a dollar floor and ceiling. Salaried roles list an annual range. Per diem rates are listed as their actual hourly amount, not a placeholder.

Where it applies, we also surface shift differentials (nights, weekends, holidays) and on-call pay separately, so you're not doing math in your head about whether the headline rate plus the differential gets you to a number you can plan a life around. If the differential isn't published, we mark it “not specified” rather than implying it's zero.

94% of nurses we surveyed have encountered hidden pay during a job search (Flor nurse survey, n=16, RI and surrounding states, 2026). By the time you've gotten through three rounds of interviews and an HR call, you've already invested. Finding out the pay is below what you'd accept is the part you should have known on day one.

If you find a role on Flor with hidden pay, that's a bug. Tell us and we'll fix it.

Your application goes to the team hiring, not a recruiter

Job boards like Indeed and ZipRecruiter scrape postings from anywhere they can find them and let any third-party recruiter list a job. That's why your inbox fills up with messages from recruiters you've never heard of, about jobs that may not exist, at facilities they don't represent. Flor doesn't scrape. Every role on Flor was posted by the employer that's actually hiring.

When you apply on Flor, your application goes straight to the hiring manager at the facility. They see your Nursys-verified license, your specialty, your schedule preferences, and whatever you wrote in your cover note. They can message you back through the platform. No staffing agency is taking a percentage of what the employer pays for your seat.

We don't sell your contact info. We don't share your profile with staffing agencies. We don't let recruiters use Flor as a sourcing pool. The data you put in your profile is used to match you to roles you saved or applied to, and to give you a Fit Score. That is the entire scope.

Every employer on Flor commits, in writing, to responding to applications. Even if it's a no. The black-hole inbox where you applied three weeks ago and never heard back is the thing we are most actively building against. If a Flor employer ghosts you, tell us and we'll address it on our end.

Why it matters

This is why you became a nurse.

The job search should never get in the way of the work that matters.
